6:30pm - Come Home Year Kick Off at Kinsmen Park, but if the weather is bad, we will move inside EJ Broomfield Memorial Arena. We have live music starting at 7:00 pm including: The Flummies, Matrix, Smokehouse Donna Robberts & the Phantom Slyde Band. There will be food and games concessions, Celebration Kits for $10 (includes a t-shirt, discount coupons and other goodies) and a place to purchase Come Home Year merchandise. Official opening at 9:00pm. Bring your own lawn chairs. As it gets darker, we have planned a Fireworks display for your enjoyment!
Saturday July 16
10am - 2pm Celebration of Nations, Multicultural Food and Craft Fair. at the College of the North Atlantic. We have many hand made crafts, interesting foods to try and displays. Admission is just $2 per person. This event has been funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and the Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism Province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
10am Goose Jam Skateboard Competition at the Rotary Skate Park behind Mealy Mountain Collegiate. Watch some exciting action as young skaters strut their stuff! Free Admission.

People have been asking who MATRIX is... The band was formed in 1986. Members include Kenny Cochrane (guitar/keyboard), Doug Roberts (Bass), Paul Johnson (Lead Guitar), Mike Lethbridge (Drums), Pat Aylward (Lead Singer). We played most of our gigs at Maxwells back then. Hope this helps jog some memories. Looking forward to the reunion!!!

Then at 3:30, Terry Rielly (AKA the TEDDY BEAR MAN) will be performing for kids and their parents. Bring along your Teddy Bear, lawn chairs and a blanket. Come Home Year Celebration Kits and merchandise will be available and we expect some food concessions as well. Free Admission, but we will be accepting donations to Ronald MacDonald House!

Open to any one of any sexual orientation, as this day celebrates the diversity and pride of all people in Labrador, while recognizing the national "Pride" celebrations for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, and questioning individuals along with their families and supporters! Monday July 18
11am - 4pm is our special Senior's Day BBQ hosted by the Labrador Frienship Centre at the Leon Cooper Memorial Park on Grenfell Street. Free admission and complimentary food for seniors.
Tuesday July 19
1 to 4pm Birch Brook Open House / Guided Hikes at Birch Brook Ski Club. The new chalet will be open all afternoon so that people can meet and mingle. There will be three guided walks leaving at 1, 2 and 3. Each hike will take about an hour. There may also be shorter hikes as well, leaving at the same times. We will have a donation box for the hikes. Everyone attending will be asked to register and to sign in and out for the hikes for safety reasons. There will also be BBQ and drinks available to purchase.
4:30 - 6:30pm Moravian Church Community Supper at the church annex located at 1 Haven Street just off Hamilton River Road near Warr's Pharmacy. $7 admission gets you Chicken Pie, Mashed Potatoes & Gravy, Tea or Coffee and Dessert. The proceeds from this supper will go towards replacing their annex flooring.

All Allied and Canadian military personnel, past and present encouraged to participate. Admission is free but donations are accepted.

8 am - 4pm North Star Building (the old United Church School). Institute for Environmental Monitoring and Research IEMR Office, new Family Resource Centre, Parks Canada Office. See how things have changed since your school days there.
8:30am -4:30pm Them Days Drop by and see the NEW archive and renovated building. Magazines and other publications available to purchase. Refreshments & Snacks, Tours and History.
10:00am - 12:00 noon College of the North Atlantic Open House with tours at 10:30 and 11:30. Children are welcome and a room will be set aside for children to color and play while parents are on the tours. The Open House is open to alumni from the College of the North Atlantic, Labrador Community College, Labrador College, District Vocational School, or anyone interested in viewing the campus.
10am NEW Supreme Court House beside the Town Hall. Enjoy the rare opportunity of a guided tour of the Court House and be sure to view the collection of art recently installed in the building.
11am - 3 pm United Church Community Open House and snack.
Some of the UCW women will also be at hand to sell our little commerative cookbooks, sun catchers featuring a sketch of the new church building and packages of squares ( samples of the recipes in our cookbooks). We will be selling tea, coffee, sandwiches and a dish of ice cream with home made strawberry sauce for $5 to anyone who would like to stop for a break when they are visiting around town.
12 noon The Royal Canadian Legion is offering Happy Hour prices starting at 12 noon until closing, and finger foods at 4:00 pm. Lots of historical exhibits in the building and on the grounds.

1pm-4pm Town Fire Hall next to the town hall, will have a local firefighter to speak with you, and you may get to climb on board the fire engine for a photo.
2pm - 4pm Anglican Church on Grenfell Street. Greeters will welcome you and answer questions that you may have, refreshments available.

Labrador Canoe Regatta is the annual canoe race held at Gosling Park where teams of paddlers in traditional voyageur canoes compete for the titles in their division.
